What is a Chandelier?

A chandelier is a decorative hanging light fixture that hangs from the ceiling, commonly used in the dining room. Chandeliers feature multiple lamps, often in multiple tiers, and are used for ambient lighting.  

A similar style of light, the pendant light, may be confused with a chandelier. A pendant typically consist of only one shade/light source that hangs on a single wire/hanging system, while chandeliers have multiple shades/light sources, usually connected by branched frames.
